Celebrity hosts on indian tv talent shows

Semi celebrities on the verge of obscurity must be overjoyed with the popularity of reality talent shows on TV. Instead of being poor and eating their own children, they now get to judge mediocre singers and dancers. When that can’t be milked anymore, they get to judge fellow judges from other shows, and get judged on those shows themselves. It’s all a big reach-around.

Two other announcements:
Fly You Fools is now partnering with Random Magazine. Random Magazine is India’s longest running humor magazine (since June 2008). Here’s what they have to say about themselves:

“Off the streets of Delhi to cities all over India, Random promises (and delivers) cheap (like crazy!) laughs to the baying Indian masses”
“Basically, Random is just for repulsive, apathetic, everyday people … just like YOU!”

If you like Fly You Fools, you’d love Random. It has characters like Oot Bilav Manus (Otter Man) and Slutty Savitri (Slutty Savitri). Every month Random will feature exclusive comics from Fly You Fools.

The other announcement is about the RSS feed of this site. The feed recently changed and if you are subscribed, please change it to the new feed at http://feedproxy.google.com/flyyoufools.com.

Some people might be subscribed to the old feed. (Thanks Anshul for the heads-up). Those who are subscribed through email should be just fine. And if you’re not subscribed yet, please do it from the subscribe page.

Update: There’s some wierdness happening because of the feed. Please dont change your feed for now. Trying to get some sense into this. For now continue as was.

Update 2: Ok fixed now. If you havent dont so yet, please update your feed to http://feedproxy.google.com/flyyoufools

    LOL! Awesome!

    You could’ve put a little jibe on the movie promotion plugs too. After all isn’t that the reason why most of the celebrities are called to “judge”?

    @everyone: Thank You.

    @shruti: The judges aren’t there to judge. They’re there to provide employment for the out of work semi celebrity. When that pool runs out, bring out the cricketers.

    @kanth: But reality tv is the opiate of the masses! You turn shut it down and it’ll bring about the revolution.

    @pri: True, it’s fake. I mean, if the cricketer (or soap opera actor) actually had talent for dancing, why didn’t they start out dancing.

    @kanth: The problem with religious fanatics is… well, they’re fanatics and don’t take kindly to cartoons, artistic depictions of religious figures and in general anything that is not 100% according to their belief. So… umm… maybe some time later. :P
