@abhiroop: Did you have a good one?

@abhinav: Checked it out. It’s cool. I’d suggest taking out the background also, and filling it with a solid comic-bookish color.

@val: That’s a great tutorial. I used that method earlier. But then I discovered this tutorial for the commic effect. It’s the best one till now for converting photos to comic look.

Also check out the PSDTuts tutorial on getting the illustrated look from photographs.

I’m using a mix of all these methods. Will do a post on my photoshop technique in some time.

Actually, i learnt this effect from photoshoproadmap only…i have also linked to it in my post…
as for the “pshero” one, i dont think it really looks like a comic effect.. but hey, thats just me..

i will be doing a lot more detailed tute on this topic soon..maybe in a week or so.. my exams start in 3 days.. wish me luck!!

btw, the one on psdtuts (illustrated look) is totally awesome..but it would require a lot of time if you want to make a whole comic using that effect.. i mean, atleast i am quite slow with the pen-tool (ahem. i am talking about the photoshop tool) as of now..

Yup, the illustrated look takes time and patience. Also helps if you have a tablet. But the good thing about webcomics is you get to use the same image quite a lot of times (that is, if you are a lazy ass person like me). So it’s just some initial effort with your characters.

Also, when you have exams coming up, you shouldn’t be messing around reading webcomics Naa, kidding. Best of luck with them.

My, doesn’t reading about the wonderful effects of Photoshop just make my day.

And i was naive enough to think I’d left it all after college.

Could we have a Photoshopped picture of Katrina eating a banana though, the way she’s, umm, eating that mango?

Three guys were expelled from my college for doing something similar with pictures of other girls from the college.

@hades: No we cant have that image, because it’s not the decent thing to do. And by “we cant” I mean “I wont”, and by “not the decent thing” I mean “get fired from office, and get arrested”.

You wouldn’t happen to have those pictures with you, would you? Also, are you sure she’s “eating” that mango? I dont know… most mango eaters bite into mangoes. This ad just seems to have a very VERY happy mango…
