187-cgi-in-indian-moviesAbout the millions of views on the ND Tiwari sex tape on youtube. Although I appreciate him contributing to the wonderful Rule 34, but… what the hell is wrong with people? Given the amount of free porn online, people are still checking out the sexcapades of an old man? Instead check out this post by Faking News: Politician caught in bed with rival politician, justifies conduct [Safe for Work]

A few days back I was talking to a guy who did matte painting and worked for a company which did graphics effects for movies. According to him, most of the SFX work which you see in Hollywood movies *is* done in India (he himself had worked on Wolverine). The big production companies like Disney, Dreamworks, etc outsource their work to multiple companies here in India, who do parts of the graphics work. The work then goes back to the U.S for QA.

Totally agree with the hand scratching man. Why not use plain humans. And why not teach humans how to act? There are more emotions in am animated character that on Katrina Kaif’s face. LOL

@renker: Haha! Wasn’t inspired by that.. but now that you mention it, maybe I was subconsciously thinking about that when I wrote this down. Best part of the movie :D

@rohit: Yeah I’ve heard about this. And there are plenty of studios doing good work. Wolverine was done here? COOL!

@miro: Perhaps they should wire up some other actress’s face with those action recording 3D points (whatcha-call-that) and make a CGI Katrina. New and improved, with emotions!

Some parts of ‘Lord Of the Rings’ and ‘Narnia’ were done in India. But our animation stops at Bal ganesh. :) Car sex was LOL!

Yeah. Dogs acting as humans (and not wearing any clothes!). I really think if the film industry did get down to it seriously, we could have an Indian Avatar in the making.

Wow you’re on a roll Saad! No comic for a month and suddenly two comics in two weeks! And both very good.

Ah! The heck with rules. ;) BTW You’re leading in the poll.

@hitesh, hemant: Thanks. Glad you liked it. Hope you’re subscribed.

@deepti: Ah, December has been a good month. The highest traffic so far, nearly all comics well received. Lets hope it continues..

@nikhil: I’m ashamed I missed the Indian Avatar. How is it in 3D? The characters all seem so life like. The SFX are fucking awesome

@ad Hey whatever helps in the greater good…

@vallath: Yes. This was pointed out on Twitter also. I tend to mix up spellings and punctuation :( Life and it’s irritation etc. But I’m too lazy to edit the comic and upload a new image. Thanks for pointing it out though.

    Too Good!

Someone has a knack of highlighting bigger issues via comics! Keep it up!

PS: No comments on 3i & Mr. writer controversy? Initiate another “write the comic” contest with suitable pictures…I shall make an attempt:)

I can’t decide what is better: the sense of humour or the subtlety of the plot or the photography or the absolute ownage in Photoshop.

Awesome work, mate! Here’s a bottle of Vanilla Coke from me. Vakao!!

Chetan ka Vetan // January 12th, 2010 at 7:47 pm

Hi, this is Chetan Bhagat. I take grave offence to your attempt at being creative in the form of the present cartoon! I too had come up with a great joke on MMS technology that was inscribed in one sentence of my novel a couple of decades ago. The least you could have done was credited me! Yes, you left me an email asking for permission and transmitting a gratuitous sum to my account after I had agreed to your reasonable terms over negotiations that lasted 7 months. But you could have put my name in despite all that! I am hurt. Now I will proceed to block you. So there. Ha!

hahaha!! After reading #26 <- ROFLMAO. *Takes hats off*

Now you just have to be careful that the other Chetan Bhagat doesn't come here. Or he'll make hue and cry of "putting his name without his permission" (Or payment…)
